“I am Providence, bitches!”

Congratulations are in order to all of the nominees and winners for this year’s World Fantasy Awards. It was a good crop of fine work. The Life Achievement Winners, Ellen Datlow and Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, have earned their laurels. In particular, I am truly and almost inexpressibly delighted that Caitlín R. Kiernan won two World Fantasy Awards today, one for her collection, The Ape’s Wife and Other Stories (Amazon|B&N|Subterranean), and the other for her short story, “The Prayer of Ninety Cats.” These awards were very well deserved, and it is fitting that an author who writes what she writes, as well as she does, should take home a pair of Howards. Long may the joy of your victory stay with you, Caitlín R. Kiernan, and congratulations.
